Baseball Program Head

Position Description

The Walker School seeks a dynamic and experienced Baseball Program Head to lead and develop all aspects of its middle school, junior varsity, and varsity baseball teams. This seasonal role focuses on building a player-centered, developmentally appropriate program that aligns with Walker’s core values of Kindness, Curiosity, Dignity, and Honor. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the sport, a commitment to character-driven coaching, and a strategic approach to growing a cohesive, high-performing baseball program.

Working in partnership with the Administrative Head Coach, the Baseball Program Head will oversee player development, manage coaching staff, and lead the long-term vision and day-to-day operations of the baseball program.

Essential Job Duties

  • Lead the vision and direction for all levels of Walker's baseball program (Middle School, JV, and Varsity)

  • Develop, mentor, and evaluate the coaching staff to ensure consistency and alignment across teams.

  • Design and implement player development plans, including skill development, off-season conditioning, and in-season training.

  • Collaborate with the Administrative Head Coach on game-day operations, practice schedules, and athlete communication.

  • Foster a team culture that promotes sportsmanship, effort, and personal growth.

  • Support recruitment and retention of student-athletes in alignment with school values and policies.

  • Maintain inventory and request equipment as needed.

  • Ensure program compliance with GHSA regulations and Walker athletic department policies.

Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Prior head coaching experience preferred.

  • Collegiate or professional playing experience is strongly preferred.

  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to the season start.

  • Must pass a background check and meet all school and state employment requirements.

Salary and Benefits

This is a seasonal, stipend-paid position. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
