Position Title: Orton-Gillingham Tutor

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Are you a motivated, energetic educator who loves diving deep and helping students discover their love of learning? Are you passionate about your work with students and love watching them learn and grow? The Walker School seeks a dynamic and engaging tutor to join our tutorial team. Walker tutors are granted a great deal of autonomy in their tutoring sessions and are encouraged to develop relationships with their students and families. Tutors will support students identified by our Learning Support Team in grades 1-5.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS
The ideal candidate will have training and experience using the Orton-Gillingham methodology. Applicants should be comfortable working 1:1 with students and exhibit flexibility and patience to meet the needs of all types of learners. Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently.

SALARY and BENEFITS
The Walker School tutors are paid hourly by families at a negotiated rate approved by the Learning Support Team.
